Problem

There was a desire for uniqueness, for drama. There was only a shelf space between kitchen cabinets. There was a coveted sculpture from Spain’s Josep Bofill of Daedalus and Icarus.

Solution

In lieu of additional cabinets, the idea was to split the cabinets asymmetrically and create a place for a unique art piece. The idea developed. The sculpture would be on a glass shelf. Yet, there was still not enough visual interest.

The solution was to add a mural highlighting the sculpture and popping everything with an Alexa enabled smart light. The sun would shine on this wall facing east; the myth behind the sculpture was preserved. The problem was solved.
